These two UT Austin alums met at the after party of a South Asian Awards banquet. Rachita had taken her heels off to dance, and Sameer asked her, “Hey Cinderella, did you lose your shoes?” The lovebirds have been dancing through life together ever since! Rachita and Sameer kicked off their wedding weekend with a field day for their friends and family, including such classic games as tug of war and a three legged race! Shivani shared, “It was a blast! It helped break the ice for a lot of our guests who had never meet each other, because 80% of our families don't live in the same state, let alone the same country as we do!” We love this idea so much and encourage all you brides-to-be to host a game day or icebreaker event so guests can get to know each other! Although Rachita and Sameer’s festivities started out in a down and dirty fashion, their ceremony couldn't have been more different! Their wedding at The Westin Galleria Houston was an utterly royal affair, with a golden, circular mandap covered in a lavish display of blooms by Decor One serving as the jaw dropping centerpiece. Elaan Events planned the proceedings and so much beauty was captured in the photographs by VEK Photo! Maharani Rachita wore a perfect red lehenga, with makeup by Crystal Mann, and a gorgeous veil that was fashioned out of her mother’s wedding sari. Such a touching idea!
