Breakign Bread: Regina Spektor's First Single – “All the Rowboats”

Regina Spektor, a true innovator in today's musique. From songs based on scenarios and characters drawn from her imagination, Regina Spektor's tunes show influences from folk, punk, alternative, Russian, pop, jazz, and classical music. Spektor has been quoted saying that,
"she works hard to ensure that each of her songs has its own musical style, rather than trying to develop a distinctive style for her music as a whole."

Along with broad vocal range and lyrics equally eclectic, her tunes often take the form of abstract narratives or first-person character studies, similar to short stories put to song.

It should come to no surprise kiddas, that I adore Regina for her originality and her passion for constantly marching to the beat of her own drum. She is one of my all-time favorite singer-songwriter-pianist. Without further ado, lets take a moment to reflect and listen to what's good in today's musique.

Off her soon to be released album, "What We Saw From The Cheap Seats" out May 29th, comes the first single All The Rowboats. The video was directed by Adria Petty, a woman who created this gem of a video just a few months back.

As for this stunning and imaginative video, Regina features everything from a stop-motion ocean created by animator Peter Sluszka. With dazzling lights and sequins, to she herself being tied up and bound, press play and dig out this enchanting musique video for yourselves kiddas!
