(WJCL)- Girl Scouts are known for selling cookies, but what about collecting hundreds of shoes?
That’s what one local troop did in Savannah and they’re reading to donate them all.

Troop 30562 collected over 200 pairs for children in South America and the Caribbean.
At just 11 years old, Kacy Carter believes every person should have a good pair.
"It is very important to have shoes because what if it’s cold outside?," said Carter.
The young girls say they’ve learned the spirit of giving from their parents and the church.
"Our joy is to see them at such a young age each being able to reach out into the community and to understand that this world is not just about you," said Dr. George Lee III, Pastor at St. John Mighty Fortress.
The group hopes to continue the tradition and, one day, be able to afford a trip to personally deliver the gifts.
For now, they’re happy to be making the holidays a little brighter.
